I've always wanted to do something creative or related to fashion for a long time. However, the fear of ”failure” or not having ”enough” always stopped me. Approaching 35 I decided to have a risk taker approach on life and here I am!
I found this dress at the thrift store the night before the shoot. The designer is unknown and my sandals are by L.A.M.B.
This Mustard plaid blazer is a scene-stealer! I was rocking this trend in February 2018.

We can only control the things we have power over. For those we don’t have power over you must play the hand you're dealt. Simple as that!
My dress came from Old Navy a few years ago it was hanging in my closet. I’m surprised I was able to squeeze into it. I found this denim jacket by Lucky Brand at Marshall’s and added the broach. My turban was a quick find at the local beauty supply store.
There's no such thing as no way out. You always have a way out. You have to work for it! I found this sheer and feathered sweater by Pepin in Marshall’s. My jeans are vintage Levi’s and sandals by Schutz.
This year I decided to lead a colorful life. During a trip to a local Museum less than 10 minutes away I found some unique colorful pieces by world renown artist such as Kehinde Wiley.

Sometimes it's ok to venture into other lanes. Just do it in a tactful manner.
There’s simply something sexy about wearing menswear, but only if you style them with the right accessories.
White strapless bodysuit and metallic silver pants ASOS.
It's a cold world out here and you don't owe anyone anything.
What more can I say? I love everything about my culture. I'm not afraid to wear braids to work. Yes, I hold a director level title but I'm not afraid to be myself. I love who I am. Unapologetically me. That's who I am.
Top (After Market); Pants (RO&DE); Mules (Leith); Shades (Thrift Store)
When I saw celebs wearing this shirt on International Women’s Day I thought to myself I need this!
I have the power to create change. That's what Phenomenal Women do.

I've always been characterized as you are your mother's child! After rummaging through some old pics I realized I'm the perfect blend of both. The softer classy side is definitely Nina. While the edgy rawness comes from Andrew!
Who knew my dad was equally as stylish as my mom. Side note: my mom is an amazing seamstress. I've watched her make some beautiful pieces for our family and others.
Nina (Mom) Attire (made by her); Dad (Andrew) Attire (Unknown); Drop waist Dress (Designer Unknown); Denim Duster (Gap); Jeans (Joe’s)
This shoot occurred as I was switching companies. Super nervous, excited and stressed! Lol. Oh and let's not forget I was not feeling my best because of my weight gain. However, I embraced it. I wasn't afraid to show my flaws.
Off-the-Shoulder Top (Banana Republic); Jeans (Joe’s); Mules (Leith)
While most were dressing up for OTR II I wanted a more casual look. I knew Beyonce would bring all the slayage! Let me tell she did not disappoint. Leading up to the night before one thing I knew for sure I was wearing was my Adidas lol.
I woke up at 4:00 am cut an old pair of jeans into shorts. I distressed the denim top and found the fanny pack when I arrived in Atlanta.
Denim Shirt (Jessica Simpson); Denim Shorts (Joe’s); Fanny Pack (Prada); Sneakers (Adidas)
I try my best to practice peace and love all the time. This sweatshirt spoke to me when I saw it in Marshalls. I mean don't take my kindness for weakness! But when you let love guide you great things happen!
This shoot occurred at a local bar one night because I was obsessed with the strip walls leading to the restrooms.

All I can say is the man working in this store was absolutely hilarious with his photo-bombing. I was able to find some good snacks in there too...not the kind in your local BP or Sheetz.
A little trip to the Bodega is always needed.
Top (Banana Republic); Shorts (Levi’s); Sandals (Marc Fisher)
Celebrating one of my best friends 35th at this amazing Airbnb. I opted for a quick photo shoot in this swanky house before heading out for a quick turn up.
I picked up this short from the mall on the way to the party house and my necklace came from the thrift store. Thanks to my good friend for owning an online shoe boutique to help top off my look.

What’s better than wearing a cozy crewneck on the weekend to run errands? Dressing it up with a pair of Cone Denim jeans from the Gap with your favorite pair of heels or boots. I dare you to test the waters and style up your sweatshirts this fall.
When I saw this piece in the thrift store I instantly thought of Diana Ross in Mahogany. It made me feel regal. Side note: I was sweating my life away during this shoot.
Maxi Dress (Designer Unknown - Thrift Store); Jeans (J. Brand); Sandals (M.I.A); Clutch (Nordstrom)
When the weather is stuck between summer and fall so is my fashion.
Whoever said Caftans were meant for beaches or house dresses are wrong! The Caftan is laid-back, but it flirts with danger in its anything-goes vibe. Caftans can be chic and effortless. Thanks to one of my besties Adeola for this timeless gift!
This ubiquitous look returned with a bang. The trend probably isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea but I'm sipping for now!
A fresh and modern twist on pastels when worn out on the town. Switch it up by adding a pair of chunky sneakers.
This is 36!

What Would Nina Wear: Pleats & Thank You!
In my opinion two items that will instantly transform your look are the right top and shoes.
Sweater: I love a good sweater to work around as a transition piece. Volumetric patterns in the form of braids and other weaving are stylish. Adding this Legend sweater gave it a hip vibe! Don’t forget to half tuck your sweater.
Skirt: A pleated midi is a trendy classic. We think pleats are ideal for the office. Who knew pleats were so cool?
Heels: With heels this look is ultra-classy.
She was a rainbow but he was color blind.
Sweater: Free People
Jeans: Cone Denim Gap
There is art and beauty in everything. Did you know houseplants can remove toxins?
