I woke up last Sunday feeling like I needed a fresh start. I was in a creative slump feeling like I should stop blogging. Then I thought about my purpose and ultimate goal. So what did I do? My usual on Sundays turn on T.D. Jakes and chill.
Next, I started watching basketball but I couldn’t focus my mind was all over the place! So much for my fresh start right. I threw on some clothes and went to the farmers market. While scouring the market for fruits and veggies it hit me. Fresh ideas started to flow!
Along with fresh ideas, came memories. I remember summers at my grandparent's house. Not the ”big house” I missed that era thanks, mom, and dad! But every summer all the youngin’s on my father side would spend time with Shawty Buck ”grandpa” and Cora ”grandma”.
We would play then cool off in the garage or in the house with my grandmother. But my cool off was walking behind Shawty Buck in the garden. I was so intrigued by his reaction to the seeds he had sewn. Now he was a man of few words but mighty at heart. He would say Shasha and give me his straw hat to block the sun. He would walk around the garden in complete silence, stand back and look then make his way to the shed. My grandfather would come back with his plow and lines adding more to rows to his garden.
Quietly walking through the Farmer’s Market in my straw hat I got some inspiration. Sometimes it's best to remain silent but fresh! Not to mention the smell of fresh fruit and veggies took me down memory lane.
BTW I’m really digging this Chevy truck! Fresh isn’t always about the latest fashion or car.
