Nothing screams summer like pulling out your best white, denim, dress or linen outfit! Memorial Day is when the trend pop into full swing for the three months. With less than five days until the first all-white day, night, yacht party cookout the search for the perfect white outfit is on most people's to do list.
People will wake up Saturday morning with sun rays beaming from their closet and bam all of sudden they step out looking "godly" or "angelic" in their all-white.
Now don't get me wrong, I've participated in a white party or two, maybe three in my younger years. However, there is nothing wrong with adding a pop of color to your crisp white ensemble. Here's how I took this classy trend to another level.
- Maxi dress (or housecoat as my friend called it) - I found this piece at a local thrift shop. Initially, I planned to wear this mahogany colored dress with a belt to cinch the waist and add a little structure.
- Jeans - the perfect pair of white jeans are a summer staple. You can make them look simple or chic. I opted for a little distress by adding a slit on the knee and cutting off the bottom hem.
- Accessories - a key component of your outfit! I went with a chic lace-up heel and embellished clutch. Style tip: I prefer a neutral shoe with white bottoms because it keeps the look clean and fresh.
One might think dresses over pants that's so wrong. But no, it's so right. Let's admit it this maxi dress over a pair of white jeans turned into a much sexier and cooler look.
Would I show up to an all-white party in this outfit? Absolutely! Remember John Witherspoon's classic line from Boomerang: "The Secret Is You Got to Coordinate."
Honestly, I feel you can wear white all year round.
